Starting; aircraft carrying auxiliary aircraft.- To facilitate starting, an aircraft is fitted with detachable power units which are provided with parachutes or planes, to enable them to return to the ground undamaged after the main machine is in flight. The figure shows a hydroaeroplane having two permanent propellers a, and two auxiliary units b detachably secured to the wings and formed as small hydroaeroplanes adapted to carry an attendant. The units for land machines are fitted with wheels or skids.
