Transmission gear between separate axles; differential gearing. - Relates to a six-wheeled vehicle in which all wheels are driven and it is desired to divide the power between (1) the front axle and (2) the two rear axles in the ratio 1 : 2 or other desired ratio, and comprises a wheel 15 loose on the main shaft 13 of the gear-box 14 and adapted to drive the front axle through a shaft. 18, a shaft 24 driving the twin rear axles, and differential gearing 21, 22, 23 whereby the power is transmitted from the shaft 13 to the wheel 15 and the shaft 24 in the desired proportion. In the construction shown the ratio of the diameter of the wheels 21, 22, 23 is2 : 4 : 8.
