Abstract
269,585. Keyser, J. J. April 16, 1926, [Convention date]. Driving-arrangements.- In spinning, twisting, and like machines main driving-wheels 2, geared with motor, belt, or like driven wheels 4, each drive a spindle-driving shaft by a wheel 5 and a front roller shaft by chain gearing, such as a Galle, Renold, or like chain 16 and wheels 14, 17, arranged on a rotatable and rockable arm 20. The arm 20 is adjustable about the shaft 3 of the wheel 2 to allow the twist change wheel. 15 or the front roller wheel 18 to be changed, and may be turned about a central pivot 10 to reverse the positions of the wheels 14, 17 and thus to alter the main transmission ratio between the spindles and rollers. The wheels 4 may be arranged as shown in Fig. 1, so that they are driven by the same motor, or they may be adjustably mounted below the wheels 2 and separately driven. The chain wheels 14. 17 are mounted on stub shafts projecting from bushes 12, 8, Fig. 3, which are shaped to engage the squared ends of the shafts 3 of the wheel 2. The spindle-driving gears are enclosed in a housing 1.
