Abstract

267,227. Stammers, J. W., and Tabor, Ltd., G. Dec. 12, 1925. Loading and unloading solids by currents of liquids.-Apparatus for washing, scaling, or treating fish, is stated also to be used for raising fish from a ship to a quay and comprises an unchokable pump 4 for drawing fish and a liquid from a tank 1, and a conduit 5 for delivering the fish and liquid to treacting-apparatus. As shown in Fig. 1, the conduit 5 discharges into a scaling device 6. The fish pass from the device 6 to a culling or sorting - tray 13 having perforated bottom 14, and a tank 15 receives the water which is taken back to the tank 1 by a pipe 16. The tank 1 has an inclined sieve plate 2 whereby the fish slide down to the pump suction and the sand &c. falls through to the bottom of the tank from whence it is flushed through the outlet 22. A flushing outlet 19 is provided in the scale tank 8.
