Abstract

179,299. Richardson, W. W. Feb. 2, 1921. Washing-plant.-Alluvial mining operations are effected by a self-contained unit comprising a pontoon or the like a carrying a force pump c delivering water to jets for breaking-down the material and a suction pump d to raise the spoil to a trommel i which discharges the tailings overboard and the undersize material to concentrators m or sluice boxes; from the concentrates &c., the valves pass to containers and the tailings to rotary de-watering apparatus o with inner vanes which lift the solids to a discharge conveyer p. From the apparatus o, the water passes to a settling tank q with a slime outlet q<1> and thence through a tank r and over a weir s to the suction tank t of the pump c. The trommel may be as described in Specification 136,459. An auxiliary pontoon may be provided with pumps for varying the volume of water in circulation for spreading debris &c.
