Abstract

265,149. Soc. Anon. Etablissements Ballot. Jan. 29, 1926, [Convention date]. Valve gear. --- Chains 9. 14 engage sprockets on the crank shaft 5, cam shaft 6, and magneto shaft 7 &c., and also engage connected idler sprockets 11 loose on an axle 12 adjustable to tension both chains. The axle 12 is carried on a forked bracket 16 loose on an eccentric bear. 17, adjustable to lift the bracket and tighten the chain 9. The bearing 17 is so placed that swinging of the bracket 16 thereon does not appreciably affect the tension of the chain 9 but tensions the chain 14, such swinging being effec'ted by screws 20, 21 engaging tapped holes in the crank casing 4.
