Abstract

261,460. Chapman, A. W. Aug. 15, 1925. Sliding seats; seat adjustments. - For use with a slidable seat 1, an adjustable locating stop S is provided, independent of the seat, and having means, such as the screw 15 and tiltable claw 10, for locking it upon or within a rail 5. The stop may carry a pin 14 to be relatively engaged by the. spring-pressed pivoted hook 12 carried by the seat. The seat may carry slides 4, hinged at 9 within cages 3, and flats 7 allow of the complete removal of the seat from the rails 5. Spring buffers 18 may be provided at the rear ends of the rails 5. Rails of dovetail channel section may be used instead of those shown, in which case the slides 4 and the tiltable member 10 would engage with the inside thereof. The rails may be arranged vertically, and the slides and stop then used for vertically locating and securing in position the back of a seat.
