Abstract

206,332. Hillman Motor Car Co., Ltd., and Green, E. A. Oct. 9, 1922. Sliding-seats for use on motor vehicles. The seat is held in the required position by a locking device which serves also as the sole means for retaining the seat on its guides. The seat A movable on rollers B on tracks C is guided by a a rod D fixed on the floor and engaged by two brackets E, or by one U-shaped bracket, in one of which slides a locking bolt G. The underside of the rod D and the end of the bolt G are similarly inclined and provided with rack teeth. The bolt G is moved against spring action by a lever H<3> on a shaft passing from back to front of the seat. Partial movement of the bolt removes it from the guide D and permits sliding to and fro of the seat. A full stroke removes the bolt clear of the rod D and permits raising of the seat.
