Abstract
260,831. Chamier, P. G. Feb. 23, 1926. Spray carburettors. - The needle valve in the fuel nozzle is controlled from the throttle actuating means through a cam mounted on a foundation plate adapted to be readily secured to the carburettor. The throttle arm c is connected, through a link d, with the acceleration pedal b which is also connected, at a point nearer the fulcrum, through a link e with a cam disc f mounted on a plate m adapted to be secured by the head of an existing bolt n. A rack on the needle valve is engaged by a pinion on a spindle i, an arm g on which is connected to a push-rod j which slides through a pivoted guide l and is maintained in contact with the cam f by a spring h. Alternatively the cam may bear directly on the pin k. The fuel orifice is reduced in area as the throttle valve is opened to effect economy in fuel consumption.
