Abstract

Spray carburettors.-Relates to carburettors of the Holley type, and consists in connecting the spindle of the screwed spray valve to an adjustable pivot on the throttle lever so that the supply of fuel is decreased as the throttle opening is increased and vice versa. Fig. 1 shows in plan the throttle-valve lever e fitted with an adjustable slotted plate f carrying the pivot pin j for the link k which connects the throttle lever to an arm b clamped to the screwed fuel-valve spindle a. By means of a screw h, the distance of the pin j from the axis of rotation of the throttle lever e may be adjusted and the movement communicated to the fuel valve is thereby varied to suit the throttle opening. The link k is attachable to the arm b at varying distances from the spindle a. Fig. 3 shows a modified form of link k, its end k<1> being slotted and connected to the dash board so that the link k may be moved against the action of a tension spring m independently of the throttle lever. Fig. 5 shows a link k in the form of a rack engaging a pin wheel o<1> clamped to the spindle a. The rack is kept in engagement with the wheel by a roller p. Specification 11362/15 is referred to.
