Transformers.-A three-core transformer 18 has its primaries supplied by voltage transformers 16, 17 in such a manner that when the systems 11, 12 are out of phase the primaries aid each other and no flux passes through the secondary 19, whereas when the systems are in phase the primaries oppose each other, and the secondary 19 has induced therein a voltage proportional to the sum of the system voltages.
