Systems depending on static transformers. - In a polyphase transformer having a zig-zag winding 15, the two sections 16, 17 of each phase of the winding are each provided with tap connections 18 whereby the phase angle and voltage ratio between the primary and secondary windings may be adjusted independently or simultaneously. Where power is to be transmitted over parallel circuits 12, 13, for example between supply systems 10, 11, two such transformers are employed as shown in order that current may be equally divided between the circuits 12, 13 by relative adjustment of the tapping switches of the transformers to compensate for unequal reactance and resistance values in the two circuits.
