Folding boxes: lids.-In order to increase the rigidity of the box of the parent Specification after it has been erected and filled, means are provided for interlocking the upper marginal portion 1 of the front 2 and the continguous marginal extensions 4<E> 5<E> of the ends rsepectively. As shown, the free corners of the extensions 4<E>, 5<E> are locked in slots 10 in the portion 1, but in a modification the corners of the portion 1 engage similar slots in the in the middle of its front edge for engagement by the string used in securing the box in its closed condition.
