Wagons with load supports adjustable in height.-A wheeled truck is adapted to carry a mining-machine which may be inverted so as to cut in different planes, and the truck is propelled by means adapted to be connected to the machine when the latter is in either position. In Fig. 2, the truck 1 removably supports a reversible mining machine 9 such as is described in Specification 211,475, [Class 68 (i), Excavating earth &c.], and the horizontal shaft carrying the feed sprocket 22 of the machine is provided with an internally toothed clutch member 30, Fig. 3, which engages with a complementary clutch member 31 on a shaft 32 carried by the truck. The shaft 32 drives the truck through reversing bevel gearing controlled by a handle 41, spur gearing 44, 45, and chain gearing 48, 49; the shaft 38 of this transmission carries a brake controlled by a handle 51. The truck has a removable pivoted drop front 7. In Fig. 5, the machine 9 is carried by a frame 57 adjustably connected to the truck by pivoted screw jacks 63. The, truck is driven from a shaft 59 through a chain 60, the shaft 59 being maintained in correct position relative to the rear axle of the truck by means of a member 70 pivoted to the frame and truck and comprising parts 71, 72 pivoted at 73.
