Abstract
235,436. Svensson, O., and Svensson, G. Sept. 23, 1924. Carburetting-apparatus; spray carburettors.- In a two-stroke engine wherein fuel is delivered into a portion of a transfer passage rectangular in section between the crank chamber and the cvlinder, the rectangular part 7 of the transfer passage 5 into which the fuel is delivered by a nozzle 8 has a substantially horizontal bottom surface and is of great width and small height. The fuel spreads over the plane bottom surface and is taken up by the air, which is directed on to such surface by an adjustable pivoted throttle flap 11 which may be replaced by a slidable, curved disc. The fuel is supplied from a chamber 9, which may be a float chamber and the fuel pipe contains a non-return valve 10. The air is admitted to the crank chamber past an automatic valve 4 the loading spring of which is adjustable. With the above features, engines may be run on light as well as heavy fuel.
