Abstract

Transmission gear between separate axles.-In a vehicle having two driving-axles a master-gear driven by the driving shaft drives a differential housing and the differential gears of this housing :are connected respectively to the first axle and to a shaft driving the second axle. The driving shaft 7 drives through a master-gear 23 a differential housing 31 from which the drive is trallsmitted to sleeves 35, 36 driving respectively ':he half-axles 4, 5 and a gear wheel 24 driving the second axle (not shown) through a pinion 29 and a, shaft 8. A second differential gear 37 is driven by the sleeve 35 and a third differential gear is provided on the second axle. The shafts 7. 8 are slightly out of line to allow the two sets of bevel gearing 23, 29 to clear each other. The shaft 8 is connected to the shaft entering the other axle casing by a universally-jointed telescopic shaft.
