Abstract
231,552. Watkins, J. L., Smith, H., and Cunningham, F. W. Aug. 21, 1924. Prisms, rotating.-Signs of the type comprising multiple prismatic elements disposed parallel to one another and co-operating to form a composite display surface are intermittently operated by a uniformly rotating motor by cam friction gearing. The motor shaft 21 carries a pinion 22 meshing with a toothed disc 23 carrying a pair of cams 24, 25. The cams may be adjustable to vary the length of the roughened operating rim, which at each rotation of the disc 23 engage a rubber-edged wheel 27 on a shaft 4. Worms on the shaft 4 engage worm wheels on the spindles of the prismatic elements.
