Abstract
228,500. Smithe Machine Co., Inc., F. L., (Assignees of Novick, A.). Jan. 28, 1924, [Convention date]. Sheet-carriers; sheet-registering devices. - An envelope blank 1 is fed by a belt 2 beneath folding- blades 3 and against adjustable stops 9, as described in Specification 224,500, [Class 94 (ii), Paper bags &c.]. Fingers 12, adjustably mounted in holders 14, are given a movement in the planes z by means of cams 31, 32 which engage rollers 17 on the lower ends of sliding members 15 carrying the holders 14. The members 15 are provided with slides 19 capable of translational movement in guides 18, and are actuated by a cam 28 and lever 26 to move the tips 13 of the fingers 12 into the plane of the blank 1 on the downward movement and out of the, plane on the, upward movement, as at A, Fig. 1. A bar 23 connects the lever 26 with the! guides 19. The blank is thus centred and registered beneath the folding- blades 3.
