Abstract

220,068. Hill, W. L. May 9, 1923. Springs, arrangement of; equalizing load on wheels.-A front axle suspension, particularly for motor tractors, comprises a transverse spring b supporting the vehicle and suspended by links c immediately below the ends of the axle a, the centre portion a<3> of the axle being bent or deflected forwardly or rearwardly to allow the spring to extend beside such portion. A loop d shackled to the centre of the spring is connected by a bolt to the eye-piece e on the vehicle. The Provisional Specification also describes the axle as being bent downwardly, the spring being arranged above the axle with its ends resting on the higher end portions thereof. Reference has been. directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 8/78 and 204,515.
