Sliding doors.-Folding sliding doors, such as are described in Specifications 5828/13 and 108,728, are provided with means to enable the door to be folded against the side wall, Fig. 4, without using bent track or arranging the top guide and bottom runners in different planes. The first leaf 2 is hinged to a fixed post 1 set back from the opening, and the second leaf 3 is hinged to the first and to a post 4 which is guided at the top and bottom, e.g. by a pair of rollers and a ball-bearing runner on a bottom rail. The third leaf 5 is hinged to the post 4. The second leaf 3 is longer than the first one to permit of the leaves folding close together. A stop 7 prevents strain in the hinge between the door 2 and post 1. Compressible, tongues 14 and recesses 15 make a weather-proof closure. When a bolt, other than a flush bolt, is provided between two folded leaves the hinges are offset to provide sufficient clearance. Metal bearing-strips may be provided for the top guide, rollers. In outside doors the head beam is protected by a weather board.
