Abstract

1,104,543. Sliding doors; windows &c. H. G. WYNN. 21, April, 1965 [22, Jan., 1964], No. 2789/64. Heading E1J. In a sliding door &c. in which the leaf 1 is supported at its bottom edge by rollers and guided by transverse arms 15 of a vertical plate mounting the rollers, the arms 15 moving in restricted neck track channels 21 let into the floor and curved at the ends adjacent the opposite sides of the door frame to guide the door leaf into a flush position in the frame, and the leaf is provided with a channel 23 in its upper edge in which runs a projecting pin 27 from an arm 29 pivoted at 31 to the lintel of the frame, the arm being spring biased by a spring 45, so as, in the open position of the door to urge the door towards the wall to maintain it in an upright position. As the door is closed the arm 29 swings around and is accommodated in the gap between door frame or in a recess 51 formed in the lintel. stops 55 in the lower tracks define a desired open position of the door. The runner rollers (Figs. 4 and 5) have lateral parts of reduced diameter running on the reduced neck portion of the channel with the larger diameter portion running between the two lateral portions of the reduced neck and are adjustably mounted by screw means (20), in the bottom edge of the door.
