Abstract
316,040. Aldam, E. H. Aug. 28, 1928. Sliding doors.- The end leaves b of hingedsliding doors, windows, &c., are hinged to the side of the door opening by means of a folding flap comprising two or more hinged parts h, g, by which the door is allowed to move into a folded position adjacent to the opening and side wall and at right-angles to the opening. The flaps h, g, may be connected by an adjustable flexible member to prevent them getting into line. The pivoting points f<1>, h<1>, are approximately in line with the track. A recess may be provided in the side walls to house the leaves when folded, or floor stops may be provided to retain the leaves in the folded positions. The leaves are hinged by butt hinges x and suspended by trolleys C - - C<2>, and are guided below, preferably by pairs of rollers d, Fig. 5, carried by plates d<1> fixed to the hinge pins.
