Indicators actuated by pressure of head of liquid. - In liquid-level indicators of the type in which the pressure due to the head of liquid in the vessel a is communicated to a pressure gauge e by an expansible capsule and a column of liquid, the capsule c is immersed in the liquid, and a liquid, such as glycerine, entirely fills an enclosed system comprising the capsule, the tube d and the gauge e. The top of the vessel a communicates with the atmosphere by a pipe h or with the other side of a differential pressure gauge. To test whether the enclosed system is full or not, a cylinder f having a screw-plunger g is provided on the tube d. The system is full if on screwing in the plunger the pointer moves and then remains stationary.
