Cutting and slicing vegetables.-In a chippotato cutter, knives 4, Fig. 1, fitting in slots 3 in bars 2 which are secured to long bars 1 are provided with recesses 5, Fig. 3, which fit into recesses 7 in blades 6 arranged at right-angles and fitting into slots 3 in the bars 1. A plate 8 with a central opening is secured to the bars 1, 2 as shown and serves to secure the knives and to protect them from injury by the plunger that is used to press the potato on to the knives.
