Abstract

Cutting and slicing vegetables &c.-In a hand appliance for cutting meat &c. into slices and then into strips, the meat, as it is fed through the mouth 4 of a feeding-channel, is cut into slices by knives 7, Fig. 3, arranged in helical slots 21 in a thick disk 3 mounted on a shaft 2 and operating across the mouth 4. The edges of the slots 21 are bevelled to direct the slices to cutting-disks 12 mounted on a shaft 11 and working in grooves on a roller 14. The disks 12 and roller 14 are driven by gearing from the shaft 2. A plate 15 hinged on the shaft 2 is oscillated by a tappet 16 on a shaft 17 to prevent wedging of the feed.
