Abstract

Razors, safety.-A holder for a safety-razor blade comprises a base member b and a handle e pivoted together, and a plate member l adapted to be moved translationally by the pivotal movement of the handle and member b so as to lock the blade c in position on the member b. The sliding movement of the plate l is effected by an eccentric d<1>, Fig. 7, upon the handle lug a, engaging a recess d" in the plate. In a modification, Fig. 10, a pin n projecting from the handle lug a engages a slot o in the plate l, and effects the required movement. When the holder is closed the handle e and a tubular flange on the base member b protect the two cutting edges of the blade. The holder may be locked in the aligned position by a sliding bolt f, which fits the bore of the tubular flange or by a tooth on the handle engaging a recess in the member b. The member b may be provided on the side remote from the flange with the usual toothed comb employed in safety razors.
