Abstract

139,571. Sheppard, W. D. Feb. 4, 1919. Razors, safety. The front plate b, Fig. 4, of a safety-razor and the blade a are locked to the guard c by a sliding member e mounted on and forming part of the handle and adapted to engage a slot b<4> in the central projection b<2> of the front plate with a wedging or pinning action. The opposite end of the member e is turned over and formed with a tongue e<2> engaging a slot in the end of the handle d, and the sides have catches e<3> engaging the edges of the handle. In the form shown in Fig. 10, the front plate has only two projections, the blade being held between a stop c' on the guard-plate and a slot c<2> at the head of the handle. The sliding member e is mounted within the handle and has an operating-head e<4> provided with a pin e<5> engaging in a bayonet-slot in the lower end of the handle.
