Lids, hermetic; sealing-devices for closures other than corks and plug stoppers.-In a closure for paint and like cans and of the kind comprising an ordinary lever-lid d which fits within a neck b provided with an integral external ring c and secured to the body a of the can, a capsule e is placed over the lid and crimped or closed as shown at f over the outer edge of the ring c. The neck b and ring c are stamped from a single metal blank, and the neck is inserted in the body a and soldered therein. The capsule may be provided with a tear-out strip g formed by parallel weakening-cuts, or it may be cut out in the ordinary way for removal.
