Clinometers.-In a clinometer for marine use provided with a pointer a actuated by a pendulum &c. for indicating the heeling &c. angle and additional pointers e, f for indicating the maximum angle on each side of the zero, a thin metal disc o is secured to the end of the pivot on which the pointer a, is mounted, and each of the pointers e, f is provided with a leaf spring p bearing lightly on the periphery of the disc to ensure that the pointer shall not be displaced by jarring &c.
