Abstract
158,714. Morison, D. B. Nov. 12, 1919. Condenser systems.- In steam - condensing plant comprising a main condenser 1 in which a vacuum is maintained by a steamjet air-ejector 5 discharging into an auxiliary condenser 4, the auxiliary condenser is so arranged w i t h respect to the main condenser as to be supplied with cooling- water from the same circulating-system, and is operated under atmospheric pressure. The auxiliary c o n - denser 4 may, as shown, form an additional part of a multicompartment main condenser constructed with an overflow 10 and a condensate outlet controlled by a valve 8, as described in Specification 121,775. The condensate from the main condenser flows through a barometric leg 6 to a tank 7, to which the condensate from the auxiliary condenser 4 drains through a pipe 9. The air &c. from the condenser 4 discharges to the atmosphere through a pipe 9<a>.
