Abstract
1496978 Ships carrying dry and liquid cargoes WILLIAM SHU SHAN WONG 17 Nov 1975 [7 July 1975] 47307/75 Heading B7A A ship for carrying both dry and liquid cargoes simultaneously has port and starboard wing tanks which are separated from the adjacent dry cargo spaces by cofferdams. In one embodiment (Fig. 2) the port and starboard tanks 7a, 7b are defined by port and starboard longitudinal bulkheads 5a, 5b and are separated from tweendeck dry cargo spaces 9, a central lower hold dry cargo spaces 8 and a double bottom by cofferdams 10, 11, 12. In another embodiment cofferdams may be additionally provided between the skin of the ship's hull and the wing cargo tanks.
