Abstract

902,109. Tankers. LORENTZEN, H. L. Feb. 18, 1960 [Feb. 18, 1959], No. 8855/60. Class 113. The cross-section of a tanker hull 1, having spherical tanks 6, approximates to a rectangle having a portion 2 cut off at the turn of the bilge. The tanks 6 are arranged to extend above the deck level 4 and be covered by a superstructure 8. U-shaped tanks (in the transverse plane of the strip) are arranged between the bottom portions of adjacent tanks 6. The tanks may be horizontal cylinders having bottoms conforming to the hull of the vessel.
