Abstract

1483291 Carding machines J D HOLLINGSWORTH 27 Aug 1974 [27 Aug 1973] 37432/74 Heading D1N In a carding machine with at least one concave carding plate 14 which co-operates with the main cylinder 10 over a substantial portion of its periphery a plate portion A is provided downstream of the carding plate 14 in spaced relation to the cylinder 10, the leading edge of the plate portion A being bevelled as shown to provide a passage for the expulsion of trash. The plate A is set more closely to the cylinder 10 than the carding plate 14 to induce an airflow which assists trash removal. A second plate may be provided downstream of the first.
