Abstract
817,805. Carding-engines. TAINE, R., and PELISSIER, J. April 5, 1956 [April 8, 1955; March 9, 1956], No. 10383/56. Class 120(1) A carding machine has interposed between two swifts a double transferring arrangement consisting of a slowly rotating worker in carding association with both swifts, a stripping roller transferring to the second swift material from the first swift that has passed the worker; a stripper is associated with the worker. In a machine having swifts 2, 3, 4, 5 and a doffer 6, workers 8 and strippers 10 work in conjunction with upper parts of the swifts and stripping rollers 9 with the lower parts. If desired, the groups of rollers may be reversed. In order to permit the swift 4 to carry successfully forward a large amount of material to the swift 5, an additional slow running comb cylinder 11 is interposed.
