1481627 Locks EMILE CHAUVAT & SOFRANQ REUNIS SA 21 Oct 1974 [15 Nov 1973] 45416/74 Heading E2A Locking mechanism for a door of weak fabricated construction is housed'in a hollow edge extending the full height of the door and of generally H shape providing a web 31 by which it may be secured to the door body. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2 for a pair of doors 2, 2' having a fastening mechanism released by panic bars 4, 4', the mechanism is housed in edge members 3, 3'. The relatively deep channel between the flanks 32 and 33 and the web 31 houses the mechanism and the fastening bolts, and has inwardly extending detents 32a, 33a which engage with detents 52a, 53a on an end closure 5. The door 2' has a conventional mortise lock 80. The edge members may be of various shapes, and may be applied to a single door.
