Abstract

1445529 Toy guns DAISHIN KOGYO KK 24 April 1974 [26 April 1973 24 July 1973] 17971/74 Heading A6S A toy gun of the piston-operated paperrupture type comprises, in a first embodiment, Figs. 1, 2, a body part a housing a cylinder 1 having a piston 2 and piston rod 3 therein. In operation the piston is drawn along the cylinder 1 by a bar 3a, which extends through the body a, against a spring 9, and is held in this position by a hook 15c on a lever 15 which hooks an engaging member 7 on the end of the piston rod 3. The right-hand end of the cylinder has an opening 1a, and is fitted with a packing means 4 which has a corresponding opening 4a. A pressing member 10 and a second packing means 11 are mounted ahead of the first packing means 4 on two connecting rods 12 linked by a further rod 19 to a trigger 14 the operation of which serves initially to bring the two packing means 4 and 1 together and finally to rotate lever 15 so as to release the engaging member 7 from the hook 15c and thus fire the gun. Paper is fed between the two packing means 4, 11 by a guide system comprising a friction drum 22a attached to a ratchet wheel 22 rotated by a rack 21a which is connected to the piston rod 3 such that 'cocking' of the gun as described also feeds the paper. In a second embodiment, Figs. 3, 4, the piston is drawn back by a sliding rod 112 fixed with a folding handle 103a. The cylinder is also drawn by friction with the rod 112 sufficiently for a gap to open between two packing means 104 and 111 to allow the paper to be fed through by a gear-wheel and frictionroller system 122a, 122b, 127 127a, also operated by the drawing back of the rod 112. When an engaging means 107 has been hooked to a trigger assembly the sliding rod 112 is returned to its initial position thus returning the cylinder so that the two packing means are firmly pressed together either side of the paper. A cassette. c housing a roll of paper may be fitted to the gun.
