Abstract

1440589 Metallic bottle cap METALL KAPSEL FABRIK LOOS & CO GmbH 5 Nov 1973 51239/73 Heading B8T A bottle cover comprises a cap 3 of a lead alloy having a base 3A, a frusto-conical peripheral wall 3B with a projection 3D which retains a resilient plastics disc 4, adjacent the base 3A, such that when the cap 3 is applied to a bottle the disc covers the opening and forms a seal with the rim of the bottle. According to three embodiments the projection can be an annular bead, a row of depressions or a number of inwardly pressed axial ribs. The lead cap may have a tin coating on one or both sides.
