Abstract

866,652. Closure caps. METAL BOX CO. Ltd. Feb. 16, 1960 [May 20, 1959], No. 17223/59. Class 125(3). A cap of resilient plastics material having a crown 1 and an annular skirt 2 is formed with an annular plug 3 of wedge-section extending from the interior of the crown, and an annular bead 4 of wedge-section on the interior of the skirt. The surfaces 5, 6 of the plug and bead respectively converge towards the axis of the cap, the rim of a container being inserted between said surfaces 5, 6 so that a seal is effected between the plug 3 and the inner wall of the container and between the bead 4 and the rim of the container.
