1439773 Protecting underwater surfaces B KIRKSAETER and D RASMUSSEN 31 Oct 1973 [19 Dec 1972] 50525/73 Headings B7S and B7M A method of providing protection against fouling to a surface destined to be below water during use comprises applying a wax layer to the surface, optionally over a paint surface, the layer being formed by spraying molten wax on the surface and allowing it to harden to form the layer. The apparatus described includes a container 2 having a chamber 3 for wax and a chamber 4 for a cleaning agent. The chamber is heated and pump 7 directs molten wax or cleaning agent through conduits 8 to a nozzle, for spraying the wax. The Specification makes no claim to the method claimed in claims 1 to 3 of Specification 1,336,103 or to the ship claimed in claim 4 of that Specification.
