Abstract

989,693. Turnbolt fastenings. CODE DESIGNS Ltd. April 7, 1964 [April 8, 1963], No. 13825/63. Heading E2A. A window or like fastener comprises a handle portion 1 adapted to receive a single fixing screw 4 which also serves on a pivot for the handle, a locking plate 10 for engagement by the handle and one or more projections 15 on the plate arranged so as to bite into or engage that part of the window or the like to which the plate is fixed thereby preventing turning movement of the plate about its fixing screw. As shown the handle portion 1 includes a boss 2 which is counterbored for a flanged bush 6, preferably of nylon, the bush being interposed between the boss and a metal washer 7 which is also provided with projections 8 which bite into the adjacent window part. The boss is formed or provided with a spur for co-operation with the plate 10.
