Chimney and ventilating-shaft tops.-A cowl, of the type having a wind-directed head with wind inlet and outlet openings g, h and a draught-inducing conical duct i with its larger end coinciding with the opening g, is formed so that the mean direction of the air in the duct i is inclined upwards from the inlet to the outlet. Fig. 5 shows a curved form of duct i<1>. In both forms, the inlet opening g is lower than the outlet h.
