Controlling-apparatus, arrangements of hand and transmission gear in conjunction with. - In operating-gear for change-speed gears of motorcycles, cycle-cars, &c., the gears are operated by a rocking and sliding shaft 10, to a flange 13 on which is adjustably bolted a bracket 14 carrying a rod 15 on which slides a control-lever 16 with a conically-ended lug 17 normally pressed by a spring 19 into engagement with recesses 25 in a gate 20 on a bracket 21 adjustably bolted to the frame 7. In order to avoid obstructions on the particular machines to which the invention is applied, the lever 16 and gate 20 may be adjusted bodily to the desired position around the shaft 10, the parts being graduated to indicate the amount of adjustment.
