Abstract

1401267 Lintels STRESSLINE (PATENTS) Ltd 8 May 1972 [7 May 1971 3 June 1971] 13742/71 and 18717/71 Headings E1K and E1W A lintel is formed from first and second elongate members, e.g. 1, 9, arranged side-byside, each of one or more sections, in the latter instance arranged in line, the second member 9 having an elongate web 10 with a flange, e.g. 12 extending laterally to one side of the web at an angle thereto, and cooperating with one or more projections, e.g. 6 on the first member 1, and a flange e.g. 11 on the other side extending substantially parallel to one of the sides of the first member. The first member may be a solid body of reinforced or pre-stressed concrete, or a hollow beam which may be filled with concrete, or a channel or angle member of metal or plastics, while the second member may be of metal, plastics, or glass fibre reinforced plastics. Transverse stiffening plates (33), Fig. 5 (not shown) may be provided on the one or more sections forming the second member, and may be spaced to locate the bricks thereon.
