Abstract

1404183 Composite lintel STRESSLINE (PATENTS) LTD 2 Aug 1973 [2 May 1972] 20379/72 Heading E1W A composite lintel is formed from a lazy Z section of sheet metal 3a, 3c with a side wall of glass fibre reinforced concrete 7a, 7c and a base of metal 1a, Fig 3, or of glass fibre reinforced concrete 9, Fig 7. The lintel may be braced by transverse webs of sheet steel and the concrete may be further reinforced by diagonal metal rod bracing or by metal mesh. The lintel may also be in the form of a rectangular metal channel with the remaining side of glass fibre reinforced concrete, Fig 5 (not shown).
