Abstract
1396654 Open end spindle mounting SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN GmbH 9 Feb 1973 [10 Feb 1972 (2)] 6604/73 Heading DID [Also in Division F2] An open-end spinning rotor 7 is mounted on a shaft 6 which is supported on rollers 4 and 5, 5 being driven, and is supported axially by a spiral groove bearing 15, 17, the shaft being urged toward the same by ring magnets 10 and or 20, Figs 1 and 2 respectively. A bearing cap 17 may be adjustable or self aligning and be supported by a plate 21 which can itself be resilient or may lie on a resilient ring. The magnet 20 may be poined to the bearing by its pole piece 18 to form a unit. The shaft 6 may have a soft iron part where it passes through the magnet. The magnet 10 may be mounted similarly to the magnet 20 and one of its pole pieces 13 is fixed to, and rotates with, the spinning chamber 7. Spherical part 15 may be formed by a ball in the end of shaft 6.
