Abstract

1504791 Measuring rotary speed POLYMOTOR ITALIANA SpA 13 Feb 1975 6198/75 Heading G1N An embodiment of an inductive wheel speed transducer uses extensions of the bearing races 1, 2 of a rolling contact bearing as retaining rings 11, 12 on which the rotor and stator respectively of the transducer are mounted. The rotor consists in an annular ferromagnetic body 5 carrying an annular multi-pole permanent magnet 6. The stator body 7 has an annular groove housing a winding 9 and supporting a toothed ferromagnetic disc 10. The function of the rotor and stator may be transposed. In an alternative embodiment Fig. 3 (not shown) there is provided an outer ring (12) with an extension (112) over the outer race of the bearing and which has a flange (212) carrying the stator body. The inner race (1) and the inner retaining ring of the rotor are clamped together by a bush (14). In a further embodiment Fig. 4 (not shown) the retaining rings (11, 12) for the rotor and stator are adhesively bonded to the inner and outer races respectively of the bearing.
