Abstract

1371676 Combined boring and turning ARANZABAL SA 13 Oct 1972 [5 Feb 1972] 47253/72 Headings B3T and B3C A machine tool comprising a hollow rotatable spindle 4 on which is mounted a work receiving chuck 2 a tool carrying bar 11 passing through the hollow spindle and supported therein by bearings 3, 5 and extending through the chuck, means being provided at one end of the bar to prevent its rotation and one or more cutting tools 12 mounted at the other end of the bar. The bar 11 is axially displaceable through the spindle 4 by way of rack and pinion means 8, 9 whereby a workpiece mounted in the chuck can be machined internally whilst being machined simultaneously externally by one or more conventional turning tools 13.
