Abstract

1360078 Electro-photographic device XEROX CORP 13 Dec 1971 [18 Dec 1970] 57753/71 Heading G2C An electro-photographic device suitable for use with either a positive or a negative sensitizing charge comprises a substrate supporting a photo-conductive layer comprising selenium, or an alloy thereof with arsenic, doped with sodium, lithium, potassium, rubidium, caesium or mixtures thereof. The substrate may be a sheet, web or cylinder, and may be brass, steel, aluminium which may be surface oxidized, metallized paper, plastics coated with aluminium or copper iodide, or glass coated with chromium or tin oxide. The photo-conductive layer may be 10 to 100 microns thick and formed by vapour deposition. Concentration of dopant may be 5 to 5000 p. p. m. by weight.
