Abstract

1360002 Brackets GREATER LONDON COUNCIL 24 June 1971 [24 April 1970] 19875/70 Heading A4B [Also in Divisions E1 and E2] A bracket or like anchorage unit for use in mounting articles on a wall, comprises a socket 1 embedded in the wall and an elongate member 5 one end of which is adapted to be inserted and locked in the socket 1 so that the body portion 6 of the member 5 is disposed horizontally for mounting articles; the socket and the member 5 have co-operating means for retaining the member 5 in the socket, and a slidably-mounted pin or bolt 10 is provided to lock the assembly after the retaining means are engaged. As shown, the retaining means include a pair of spaced parallel pins 4 extending transversely across the socket 1, and a pair of correspondingly spaced notches 8 in a lug 7 on the end of the member 5. The pin or bolt 10 may be spring-loaded. The socket 1 has a back-plate 3 for anchoring in the wall. The member 5 may have a slot 12 and a peg 13 at its outer end for securing articles.
