Abstract

1357802 Nozzles UNION CARBIDE CORP 1 July 1971 [2 July 1970] 30781/71 Heading B2F [Also in Division D1] A nozzle assembly for distributing binder liquid onto a fibre web comprises an annular manifold 112 supplying radial nozzles 108. The whole assembly rotates to centrifugally distribute binder. A needle valve 126 is provided at the base of each nozzle and spring loaded to an open position. A stationary cam 132 engages each needle valve once per revolution momentarilly closing the same. This creates surge loads which tend to clear the nozzles of coagulants.
